Roles and Responsibilities Purpose of Role:
Oversee and steer the effort towards optimal floor layout, production planning, operational setup, and efficient manufacturing

Tasks & Accountabilities:
Designs, implements, and improves Body Shop manufacturing processes.
Manages staff and assigns tasks to best develop the required process Engineering for new Body Shops
Develop different alternatives and with different levels of automation and capacity
Continuously pursue Optimization of Capex x Opex x Building Area
Leads teams in the development of new processes and solutions
Recommend best approach for body shop processes - underbody, framing and closures
Consider non-traditional solutions with latest technology
Strives to improve efficiency and sustainability of processes and product designs and to reduce waste
Forges and maintains relationships with suppliers and customers
Secures the resources needed for teams to excel, including researching and proposing capital investments
Helps to create and oversee project budgets and engages in cost management strategies
Make or Buy Decisions, Benchmarking of Global Practices and M&E
Maintains high level expertise in their field or sector
Assures that processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines
Collaborates with other team leaders and departments
Promotes simultaneous engineering with Design, Engineering, ME and suppliers, during product development
Document manufacturing/engineering operations and procedures
Support new model launch activities, resource analysis needed to meet the production ramp up as per timeline
Skills, Abilities & Know-how
Expert-level knowledge of sector technology and processes
Experience with high volume and highly automated body shop
Knowledge of body shop processes and ability to recommend best solution
Knowledge of virtual tools for in-line Quality Checks; Welding Guns, and Weld Studs specifications and M&E
Knowledge of Robotics for Welding, Hemming, and Sealing operation
Ability to challenge conventional processes; Strategic thinking
Experience with joining techniques for metal and aluminum
Eager for Technology & implementation
New model introduction and maturation of processes

Education & Experience
Degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering
6 Sigma

Background
20 Years of experience in auto industry, combined Body Shop Plant Operations & Manufacturing Eng
Kaizen / continuous improvement process experience
CMMS software setup, use, coaching and training.
Expanded knowledge of PLC\xe2\x80\x99s, Installation and Programming
