Role Overview
The Director, IT a?? Biometrics Technology Product Leadership & Delivery is responsible for the strategy, delivery, and lifecycle ownership of enterprise biometrics technology platforms supporting clinical development and regulatory submission. This role ensures scalable, secure, and compliant solutions across data management, biostatistics, analytics, and standards enablement, while driving adoption, value realization, and operational excellence.
The Director serves as a technology product leader and trusted partner to Biometrics, Clinical Development, and R&D leadershipa??translating scientific and operational needs into a cohesive technology roadmap that accelerates trial execution and improves data quality, insight generation, and regulatory readiness.
This role plays a critical part in executing the enterprise technology roadmap, supporting M&A integration and partnerships, and enabling faster delivery of meaningful medicines to patients.
Key Responsibilities
Product & Platform Strategy

• Own and drive the end-to-end product strategy and roadmap for biometrics technology platforms (e.g., EDC-adjacent tools, data integration layers, analytics/statistical computing environments, SDTM/ADaM enablement).
• Align platform strategy with Biometrics, Clinical, Regulatory, and Enterprise IT priorities, ensuring traceability to funded initiatives and measurable business outcomes.
• Identify opportunities for standardization, reuse, and modernization to reduce fragmentation and technical debt across biometrics systems.
• Support evaluation and integration of vendor platforms, partnerships, and M&A-related technologies within the biometrics ecosystem.
• Demonstrated expertise with SAS and R Programming languages and cutting edge statistical computing environments and configurations

Delivery & Execution

• Provide accountable leadership for on-time, on-budget, high-quality delivery of biometrics technology initiatives.
• Partner with architecture, engineering, data, security, and compliance teams to ensure solutions are scalable, validated, and inspection-ready.
• Translate user needs into clear product requirements and delivery plans, balancing speed, risk, and regulatory expectations.
• Oversee iterative delivery models, ensuring continuous feedback from biometrics users and measurable improvements in usability and performance.

Stakeholder Partnership & Influence

• Act as a trusted advisor to senior Biometrics and R&D leaders, understanding their scientific workflows, pain points, and future-state vision.
• Facilitate alignment across global stakeholders, resolving trade-offs between competing priorities while maintaining enterprise focus.
• Communicate complex technical and delivery topics clearly to executive and non-technical audiences, including roadmap updates, risks, and investment recommendations.

People & Organizational Leadership

• Lead and develop high-performing global teams across product management, engineering, and delivery.
• Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor leaders and practitioners, strengthening product thinking and delivery discipline across IT and Biometrics-aligned teams.
• Drive effective change management and adoption for new and enhanced biometrics platforms.

Governance, Metrics & Continuous Improvement

• Define and monitor KPIs and success metrics for biometrics platforms, including adoption, performance, quality, and value realization.
• Ensure adherence to data integrity, validation, security, and compliance standards (e.g., GxP, regulatory expectations).
• Continuously assess platform effectiveness and recommend optimizations based on data, user feedback, and evolving business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelora??s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in IT, technology product leadership, or platform delivery, with significant exposure to clinical development or biometrics domains.
• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale technology products or platforms in regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of biometrics workflows, including data management, biostatistics, analytics, and clinical data standards.
• Demonstrated success managing global, cross-functional teams and influencing senior stakeholders.
• Experience working across large, matrixed organizations with the ability to drive alignment and execution.
• Highly analytical, data-driven decision maker with strong business and technology acumen.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Passion for delivering technology that enables scientific excellence and accelerates patient impact.
