Provide strategic leadership and direction to the INDUS GCR VAT compliance team, including multiple managers and their teams, ensuring alignment with global objectives and best practices.
Oversee end-to-end compliance processes across jurisdictions, setting standards for data extraction, transformation, and submission.
Champion the design and implementation of technology-driven solutions for statutory reporting, tax compliance, and regulatory filings, leveraging ERP expertise (SAP, Oracle, Workday, etc.).
Drive digital transformation and automation initiatives, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the function.
Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, mentoring managers and empowering them to develop high-performing teams.
Lead the onboarding and transition of new clients and compliance processes to shared service or delivery centers, ensuring seamless integration and scalability.
Develop and implement talent strategies, including succession planning, leadership development, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Skills
Required Skills & Experience
15+ years of progressive experience in global compliance, statutory reporting, or tax operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing managers and large teams.
Deep hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) and compliance technologies (Alteryx, Power BI, Avalara, Vertex, ONESOURCE).
Demonstrated ability to lead digital transformation and automation initiatives at scale.
Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and executive presence.
Experience managing teams in a global delivery model or shared services environment.
Proven track record of developing leaders and building high-performance teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Technology, or Taxation.
Professional certifications (CA, CPA, ACCA) preferred.
Extensive exposure to global tax regimes and statutory reporting requirements.
Experience in Big 4 or similar global organizations is highly desirable.
