POSITION SUMMARY
The CSS FRSS FBR Accounting Lead role is responsible for leading key business processes related to the US GAAP Financial Close for the EMEA Region, Specialized product accounting, O&T Accounting, Compensation Accounting, Global Charge Out and transfer pricing documentation. This is senior leadership role within FRSS Mumbai with a team size of 250 FTEs. The other key responsibility is to work closely with Regional Controllers and play a bridge role between Controllers and FRSS to ensure smooth cooperation related to key projects (like strategic ledger implementation, manual adjustment elimination drive) or issue resolutions. The position will support global businesses in EMEA, NAM, LATAM and APAC regions.
CRITICAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the FBR Accounting Team
Run the oversight and governance framework of the EMEA month end close activities, O&T Accounting, Specialized product accounting, Compensation Accounting, charge out and transfer pricing documentation.
Ensure all month-end adjustments and reporting are properly controlled/ validated, accurate, complete, and materially correct.
Continuously review departmental processes and procedures for automation in order to maintain efficiency and accuracy of reporting. Ensure processes are properly documented and SOX complaint.
Ensure smooth implementation of regionally significant projects in FBR accounting functions
Point of escalation for Regional Controllers, GPO, Corporate Reporting team related to the Regional Financial Close processes and support on significant issues
Serve as subject matter expert on business/ accounting/financial reporting issues related to the month end accounting and close processes, data acquisition, data enrichment processes, analysis and partnering with corporate reporting, product controllers and regional controllers teams.
Work closely with Global Process and Stakeholders (GPSM) teams to support global standardization and also to implement key strategic programs: FullSuite and new strategic ledger implementation, STP, Adjustment Reduction, etc.
Direct Internal and External Audits to ensure compliance with all risk and control parameters and applicable policies
Understand the interrelated dynamics of FBR with Balance Sheet Substantiation, capital planning and RWA reporting, regulatory reporting including but not limited treasury and liquidity reporting functions
Drive timely, complete and accurate attestation of all owned GL account keys in compliance with BSS policy, reduce red account balances and any risk exposure
Partner with other regional centers on areas to improve efficiency, effectiveness, productivity, and/or control
Engage with all other senior leadership with center and across FRSS locations and drive all strategic priorities of the organization

Active participation and lead in global Internal Audits as well as KPMG audit engagements
Establish and maintain appropriate documentation/controls to ensure the integrity of financial, regulatory and management information.
Create effective control environment to ensure adherence with all internal and external policies and procedures. Direct and coordinate audits and internal reviews. Establish a process to ensure all necessary reporting functions are operating effectively and efficiently
Drive zero tolerance culture on control breaches
Drive and coordinate remediation of all high and medium risk EUCs
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned leader with at least 15 years of proven experience related to accounting, financial reporting and/ or product control.
Demonstrate strong ability to analyze complex set of financial data and provide deeper insight on US GAAP / IFRS preferably in banking / financial services environment. Demonstrated career progression and a strong understanding and application of technical accounting principles and policies
Sound leadership skills with passion for excellence. Knowledge and practical application of Six Sigma concepts is desirable
Experience in large, complex banking and financial industry environments a plus
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate through all levels of the organization
Ability to influence peers and business partners to take action necessary to achieve goals
Extensive experience in working with a variety of financial platforms. Proficiency with MS Project and MS Office Suite

Leadership and team building and mentoring skills are vital; must have the ability to guide staff through complex and cross border transformation initiatives
