We are hiring a Director of Engineering - Storage to provide strategic and technical leadership for our Flash Array engineering organization. This role will lead both product development and quality engineering functions, driving delivery of highly reliable, scalable, and high-performance storage solutions.
The ideal candidate brings deep storage domain expertise, a strong background in enterprise storage systems, and proven experience leading large, high-performing engineering teams. You will play a critical role in shaping engineering strategy, execution excellence, and product quality across the Flash Array portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Strategy

• Lead and scale multi-disciplinary engineering teams spanning software development, firmware, systems engineering, and quality engineering within the Flash Array organization.
• Define and execute the engineering roadmap aligned with product, business, and customer requirements.
• Drive engineering best practices across architecture, coding standards, testing, automation, and release management.
• Partner closely with Product Management, Architecture, and Customer Support to deliver world-class storage products.

Product Development

• Oversee end-to-end development of enterprise-grade storage systems, including controller software, data services, performance optimization, and system reliability.
• Ensure high availability, resiliency, and performance across flash-based storage platforms.
• Provide technical guidance on complex design decisions, scalability challenges, and system-level trade-offs.

Quality Engineering & Reliability

• Own the quality engineering strategy, ensuring robust test frameworks, automation, and continuous integration pipelines.
• Drive a culture of built-in quality, focusing on defect prevention, early testing, and reliability engineering.
• Ensure production readiness, performance validation, and compliance with enterprise customer expectations.

People Leadership

• Build, mentor, and develop senior engineering leaders, managers, and technical experts.
• Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, ownership, and engineering excellence.
• Lead performance management, succession planning, and long-term capability building.

Required Qualifications

• 18-30 years of overall experience, with significant leadership experience in large-scale engineering organizations.
• Mandatory experience in the storage domain, specifically enterprise storage systems.
• Proven leadership in storage product development and/or quality engineering.
• Strong understanding of storage architectures, file/block storage, data services, performance, and reliability engineering.
• Experience delivering complex, highly available, enterprise-grade infrastructure products.

Good to Have

• Hands-on or leadership experience in Flash / NAND / Flash-based product development.
• Exposure to modern storage technologies, automation frameworks, and large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience leading globally distributed engineering teams.
