Job Description



Director – Digital Sales and Revenue, India (Mumbai)
Responsible for strategically leading & driving the digital revenue and market share objectives in line with the organisational objectives, across all digital platforms and by leveraging on current & new platform partners in India & International markets in an integrated manner with the various repertoires. This role will be accountable for driving growth in digital revenues and market share through a wider play in the market; i.e. co-building the product & content side dynamically, partnering with the ecosystem (internal & external) to drive the go-to-market models on Digital and unlocking opportunities through multiple revenue streams.
What You'll Do:

  • Development and execution of Sony Music's digital strategy, in conjunction with the Global Digital Business (GDB) division, across all streaming, download, video and mobile services in the region. Define the digital revenue roadmap to increase the market share of Sony Music India, increase content consumption through innovative means as well as by leveraging upon partner relations
  • Drive growth through newer opportunities & new platforms partnerships. This requires sharp, market development and deal making skills in a B2B environment. Key is to be strategic in structuring the commercial and monetization models (high complexity as music rights can be sold through different applications)
  • Manage and build relationship with key catalysts in the national and international streaming partners' domain (including but not limited to Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Vevo, Facebook, Instagram, JioSaavn, Gaana, Wynk and short video platforms such as Moj, Josh, Roposo etc ). Driving scale up through proactive partner management – working closely with them, holding them accountable and driving joint value creation is key
  • Leading sales and revenue operations: Leading sales performance, revenue scale up and overall digital music performance across all platforms, this is key as revenue share models are on consumptions and pay per use basis. Driving demand creation at the end consumer level to create a pull is equally critical. Be a category leader in defining the way forward and working with all the stakeholders in instituting future monetization models through end-consumers
  • Oversee and leverage the digital data & analytics to provide value-addition for content, playlist and marketing strategies to business stakeholders & teams
  • Work closely with the region's Orchard staff on the integration and assimilation of the company's independent distribution arm
  • People Development – responsible for driving, motivating, engaging team members in sales, analytics and business development in a high-performance and high-accountability environment, and add to their personal/professional growth

Who You Are:
  • Someone who comes from dynamic businesses with products/services towards end-consumers and which operate through B2B partnerships requiring deal making, products structuring and commercial skills
  • Sales and marketing centric experience and blend of strategic and operational experience
  • Experience in sectors like Digital/Internet/Telecom/M&E. Global/MNC experience is preferred
