Role Summary

----------------

DWS is seeking a Director-level Enterprise Data Engineer with 18+ years of experience in data engineering, architecture, and enterprise platforms. Deep hands-on expertise in Snowflake implementation and a strong background in data modeling within asset management domain. The ideal candidate will have designed and implemented complex investment data models, especially on

Aladdin

(BlackRock), and will play a strategic role in shaping our enterprise data strategy while being actively involved in hands-on engineering.

Key Responsibilities

------------------------

Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale data models in Snowflake to support investment data, portfolio analytics, risk, and performance workflows. Develop and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines integrating Aladdin data, market/reference data providers, and internal financial systems. Build investment data models such as:

Portfolio & Holdings Model

(positions, transactions, performance)

Benchmark & Index Model

(tracking error, benchmark alignment, relative performance)

Risk Model

(VaR, factor exposures, scenario analysis)

Compliance & Regulatory Model

(pre-trade/post-trade checks, regulatory filings, client mandates)

Performance Attribution Model

(security-level attribution, multi-factor attribution) Ensure data governance, lineage, and quality frameworks are built into the data layer. Partner with principal engineers and enterprise architects to align technical solutions with investment processes. Mentor engineering teams and establish best practices for Snowflake optimization, data security, and cloud integration. Support AI/ML use cases by preparing high-quality data feeds for quantitative models and analytics.

Must have Skills & Experience

Total 18+ years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, and enterprise data management, with strong exposure to financial services/asset management. Deep expertise in Snowflake (performance tuning, role-based access, data sharing, zero-copy cloning, materialized views, etc.), Snow spark, Cortex AI SQL, Cortex Agents. Proven ability to design conceptual, logical, and physical data models for investment workflows, including: Portfolio & Risk data structures from Aladdin. Trade/Order data models integrating OMS/EMS platforms. Client reporting and performance attribution models. Advanced skills in SQL and Python/Scala for building scalable data pipelines. Strong understanding of investment management workflows (portfolio construction, risk management, performance measurement, compliance, reporting). Experience in leading large-scale enterprise data initiatives with cross-functional stakeholders.

Desirable skills that help you excel

Prior experience with BlackRock Aladdin model customization and integration with Snowflake. Knowledge of alternative data integration and AI-driven investment analytics. Familiarity with visualization & BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker). Experience with cloud-native platforms (GCP) and enterprise integration patterns. Performance and cost optimization in snowflake

Educational & Technical Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline. More than 10 years' experience in enterprise architecture and full-stack development.
