About Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD): From sample to knowledge to results, the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry business develops and manufactures leading-edge chromatography and mass spectrometry instruments, consumables, and software solutions for customers working in the analytical sciences (routine testing markets) and scientific research. Our complete workflow solutions enable productivity and efficiency for customers performing food and beverage testing and manufacturing, environmental and industrial testing, biopharma QA/QC, toxicology, and anti-doping. For scientific research customers, our products support a range of focus areas, including proteomics, metabolomics, drug discovery, and clinical research. Position summary: The Commercial Director for the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division (CMD) in India reports to the Managing Director of India and the Senior Commercial Director of CMD Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ). This role entails being responsible for all aspects of CMD business in India, focusing on achieving revenue, profitability targets, and market share goals. To realize these objectives, the role requires spearheading initiatives in business development, enhancing the value proposition for specific segments, talent acquisition and development, e-commerce strategies, and fostering channel partnerships. Key responsibilities:
  • A pivotal member of both the India leadership team and the APJ CMD leadership team.
  • Development of the Strategic Plan (STRAP) for CMD India, steering overall management and strategic direction to ensure sustainable business growth and market leadership.
  • Delivering top and bottom-line results for the India CMD business through strategic business growth initiatives and effective cost management.
  • Formulating segment-specific strategies for accelerated growth across all four CMD business units in India.
  • Driving success in Analytical Sciences, with a focus on key account management, new account acquisition, retention, and thought leadership.
  • Attaining a high level of customer satisfaction through the Customer Allegiance Program.
  • Leading, managing, and driving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to enhance organizational vitality, incorporating customer feedback, activity metrics, and improvement initiatives.
  • Monitoring market intelligence, including customer buying trends, competition, macroeconomics, and the regulatory environment.
  • Ensuring a financially sound operation with robust corporate governance and compliance for India business. Effectively planning and managing the business budget, including revenue, margin, and operating expenditure.
  • Collaborating with other members of the management team globally and in the region to formulate cross-functional strategies.
Education & experience levels:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in engineering or applied sciences; an MBA degree would be preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience, ideally in Industrial B2B businesses, with general management experience. Minimum 5 years of experience in a Business Unit head or country leadership role.
  • Past experience at senior levels in a Chromatography and Mass Spectrophotometry business is highly desired.
Nature of experience:
  • Experience in running a business in India or a demonstrable understanding of Indian business practices in an MNC organization.
  • Leadership experience in managing a mid-sized business, creating a high-performing organization, and demonstrating success in accelerating sales growth and acquiring significant market share.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with key business partners and customers, positively impacting the organization\xe2\x80\x99s reputation and market standing.
  • Proven track record of running businesses with robust financial health.
  • Experience working in a global complex matrix environment.
