Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

Installation:

Installing electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment according to blueprints and schematics.

Maintenance:

Performing routine maintenance on electrical systems and components to prevent breakdowns and ensure proper functioning.

Repair:

Diagnosing and repairing electrical issues, including troubleshooting, replacing faulty parts, and ensuring safe operation.

Safety:

Ensuring all electrical work complies with safety regulations and codes, including those set by the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local authorities.

Troubleshooting:

Identifying and resolving electrical problems using diagnostic tools and techniques.

Collaboration:

Working with other professionals, such as contractors, engineers, and project managers, to complete projects efficiently and safely.

Record Keeping:

Maintaining accurate records of all electrical work performed, including materials used, repairs made, and safety inspections conducted.

Blueprint Interpretation:

Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to understand electrical system designs and specifications.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field:

This is a fundamental requirement for the role.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components:

This includes understanding wiring, circuits, transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical equipment.

Proficiency in using electrical tools and equipment:

This includes wire strippers, multimeters, voltage testers, and other hand and power tools.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics:

This is essential for understanding electrical system designs and layouts.

Knowledge of safety regulations and codes:

This ensures that all electrical work is performed safely and in compliance with regulations.

Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills:

This is crucial for identifying and resolving electrical issues effectively.

Communication and teamwork skills:

This enables effective collaboration with other professionals and clients.

Physical stamina and dexterity:

This is necessary for performing tasks that may involve working in various positions, lifting, and handling tools and equipment.
