Qualification & Experience

Diploma in Automobile Engineering from a recognized institute. 0-2 years of experience in servicing, maintenance, or workshop (automobile / heavy vehicles / diesel engines). Freshers with good technical knowledge and willingness to learn marine systems may also apply.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of boat engines (inboard and outboard), gearboxes, steering systems, and related mechanical systems. Assist in installation, alignment, and testing of propulsion systems, fuel systems, cooling systems, and exhaust systems on new boats. Perform routine preventive maintenance of vessels in yard and at site as per schedules. Support hull outfitting work: engine bed installation, shaft alignment support, mounting of auxiliaries, etc. Record all service activities, maintenance checklists, defect reports, and spares used. Coordinate with supervisors for planning of jobs, spares requirement, and job completion targets. Follow all safety procedures, PPE usage, and housekeeping standards in workshop and onboard vessels. Assist during sea trials / river trials and attend breakdown calls at site as required.
Technical Skills Required

Strong knowledge of IC engines, fuel systems, lubrication systems, cooling systems, and basic electricals. Ability to use hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments (vernier, micrometer, dial gauge, torque wrench, etc.). Basic understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred. Experience in servicing diesel engines, generators, or commercial vehicles will be an added advantage. Ability to read basic drawings, service manuals, and parts catalogues.
Soft Skills

Willingness to work in a boat building yard and onboard boats (river / reservoir / coastal). Ready to travel to project sites for service jobs as required. Good teamwork, discipline, and time management. Basic documentation skills and ability to report to engineers / supervisors.
