Assess, plan, and monitor individualized nutrition therapy for inpatients and outpatients as per medical conditions.
Supervise and review diet charts prepared by clinical dietitians.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient nutrition outcomes.
Monitor patients' nutritional progress and modify diet plans as required.
Ensure compliance with therapeutic diet standards for various clinical departments (ICU, pediatrics, oncology, nephrology, etc.).
2. Administrative & Supervisory Duties
Lead the dietetics team and manage scheduling, workload distribution, and performance appraisals.
Supervise food production and service to ensure quality, hygiene, and safety (as per FSSAI & NABH standards).
Liaise with kitchen staff to ensure therapeutic diets are prepared and served correctly.
Maintain records of patient diets, food consumption, and departmental audits.
Implement and monitor departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance
Ensure adherence to hospital infection control, food safety, and quality assurance protocols.
Participate in NABH / JCI accreditation processes and audits.
Develop and update nutrition policies and guidelines.
4. Education & Training
Conduct nutrition education sessions for patients, attendants, and hospital staff.
Organize continuing education and training for dietitians, kitchen staff, and interns.
Support community outreach or wellness programs related to nutrition.
5. Research & Development
Participate in clinical nutrition research, data collection, and publications.
Keep updated with recent developments in dietetics and nutrition science.
