Duties and Responsibilities:-
Dietitian
: Provide technical assistance in provision of nutritional care through diet therapy, nutrition education and participation in nutritional health care team.
DIETICIAN
1. Full professional and administrative responsibility including clinical dietetics and food service operations.
2. Intercede / interlink management and subordinates of department to ensure proper implementation of agendas on one hand and putting forth employee issues on the other.
3. May confer with physicians, other health professionals and administrative staff to resolve difficult operational, management, or clinical problems.
4. Confer with community groups to provide consultation and advice in areas of nutrition interpretation and intervention.
5. Develop, implement, and evaluate dietetic internship program.
6. Supervise maintenance of sanitary standards
7. Develop and direct implementation of menus - normal, therapeutic and emergency - based on food costing and standardization of recipes(94)
8. Monitor food production and service to ensure conformance to nutritional needs, quality standards, cost, and patient acceptance; incident report writing
9. Revision of cafeteria charges for patients and proposing the same to management.
10. Work in coordination with the catering manager regarding different issues of the kitchen like quality of food service, fiscal resources, etc

Makes rounds of ward to check upon appearance of employees serving food, appearance of food on tray, and manner and amount of food served.
Upon request of physician, counsel's inpatients and outpatients regarding procedures they should follow in maintaining diet therapy. Counseling in depth is done using demonstrations/visual aids (food models, pictures, measuring cups and spoons, etc) and handing out printed charts with modifications for the disease condition
Sensory evaluation of food prior to trolley loading and report to superiors if food is sub standard in any aspect
Delivers lectures, attends conferences or educational programs as representative of the hospital
Exhibits professionalism in oral and written communication
Performs other related work as required
