# Key Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance:
Execute scheduled servicing, oil changes, and filter replacements for all diesel engines to minimize downtime.
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting:
Identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues using manual inspection and modern diagnostic tools.
Engine Overhauling:
Perform complex repairs on diesel fuel injection systems, turbochargers, transmissions, and cooling systems.
Braking & Suspension:
Maintain and repair air-brake systems, steering linkages, and suspension components to ensure passenger safety.
Inventory Management:
Track spare parts usage, initiate purchase requests, and ensure the workshop is stocked with high-quality lubricants and components.
Emergency Repairs:
Provide rapid response for vehicle breakdowns within or near the campus to ensure transport schedules are not disrupted.
Record Keeping:
Maintain detailed digital or physical logs of every vehicle's service history and fuel efficiency.
# Technical Skills & Qualifications
Education:
ITI or Diploma in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering (Diesel Mechanic trade preferred).
Experience:
3-7 years of hands-on experience in repairing Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMV) or commercial diesel fleets.
Technical Knowledge:
Deep understanding of BS-IV and BS-VI engine standards. Proficiency in handling pneumatic and power tools.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems (common in tractors and earthmovers).
License:
Possession of a valid Heavy Motor Vehicle (HMV) driving license is a significant advantage.
