Job Description

Diesel Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing diesel engines used in vehicles, heavy machinery, and industrial equipment. They diagnose engine issues, perform regular maintenance, and ensure optimal performance and safety standards. The role requires strong mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to handle complex engine systems efficiently. Diesel mechanics work in workshops, transportation companies, and manufacturing industries.

Key Responsibilities

Inspect diesel engines and identify mechanical or electrical issues efficiently. Perform routine maintenance services like oil changes and filter replacements. Diagnose faults using specialized diagnostic tools and repair systems accordingly. Overhaul engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems with precision. Maintain service records, repair logs, and maintenance schedules accurately. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards always. Install new engine components and ensure compatibility with equipment. Test repaired vehicles and machinery for performance and reliability.

Skill & Experience

Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and mechanical components. Ability to use diagnostic and repair tools effectively and safely. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for mechanical issues. Understanding of safety procedures and preventive maintenance techniques. Ability to read technical manuals and interpret repair specifications accurately. Good communication and teamwork skills for collaborative work environments.
