Job Title:

Diesel Generator Operator

Job Summary:

The Diesel Generator Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining diesel generators to ensure uninterrupted power supply. The role includes performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining records to ensure the generators operate safely and efficiently at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operation & Monitoring

Operate and monitor diesel generator sets to ensure reliable power generation. Check and record operating parameters such as voltage, current, frequency, oil pressure, and temperature. Start and stop generators as per operational requirements or in case of power failure.

2. Maintenance & Inspection

Conduct daily inspections and perform preventive maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, coolant checks, etc.). Carry out load testing and verify performance of generators. Maintain cleanliness of generator and surrounding areas.

3. Troubleshooting & Repair

Identify and diagnose minor electrical and mechanical faults. Assist maintenance technicians or contractors in major repairs and overhauling activities. Report abnormalities or breakdowns promptly to the supervisor.

4. Safety & Compliance

Follow all safety procedures and company policies during operation and maintenance work. Ensure generators comply with environmental and safety regulations. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

5. Fuel & Log Management

Monitor fuel levels, maintain fuel logs, and coordinate refueling activities. Record maintenance activities, operating hours, and performance data accurately.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education:

Diploma / ITI in Electrical, Mechanical, or related trade.

Experience:

Minimum 2 years of experience in operating and maintaining diesel generator sets.

Skills Required:

Knowledge of DG set operation and maintenance procedures. Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems. Ability to read and understand equipment manuals. Strong problem-solving and record-keeping skills.

Working Conditions:

Work may involve exposure to noise, heat, and outdoor environments. Shift work, weekends, and emergency call-outs may be required. Must adhere strictly to all safety standards and protocols.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹27,000.00 per month
