Job Description

Job Summary:

The Die Maker will be responsible for the

manufacturing, assembly, maintenance, and modification

of dies used in casting, molding, or sheet metal operations. The role demands hands-on expertise in

GDC (Gravity Die Casting), LPDC (Low Pressure Die Casting), Core Box

, and related die processes. The candidate should ensure precision, quality, and functionality of dies to support uninterrupted production.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacture and assemble dies, jigs, and fixtures as per design drawings. Perform

die maintenance, repair, and rework

to minimize production downtime. Operate and handle

conventional machines (lathe, milling, surface grinding, drilling, etc.)

and

basic CNC machining

if required. Conduct

die fitting, finishing, and polishing

operations to achieve design accuracy. Inspect and verify components using measuring instruments like

Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Dial Indicator, CMM

, etc. Collaborate with design and production teams for die improvement and modification. Maintain proper documentation of die history, maintenance schedules, and rework records. Ensure adherence to quality, safety, and housekeeping standards in the tool room. Assist in trial runs and ensure proper die performance during casting or production operations. Continuously identify opportunities for

tool life improvement

and

process optimization

Required Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of

GDC, LPDC, Core Box, and Die Assembly

processes. Proficiency in using

measuring and machining tools

. Ability to interpret

engineering and die design drawings

. Skilled in

die fitting, alignment, and troubleshooting

. Good understanding of

die steels, heat treatment, and machining tolerances

. Problem-solving and preventive maintenance mindset. Team player with strong attention to detail and precision.

Qualification & Experience:

ITI / Diploma in Tool & Die Making

or equivalent.

3-8 years

of hands-on experience in

die manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance

(preferably in aluminum or zinc die casting industries). Experience in

GDC / LPDC die fitting

will be a strong advantage.

Tool Room Supervisor / Production Head

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹13,394.99 - ₹34,746.84 per month
