Key Responsibilities:
1. Die Inspection & Checking
? Inspect new, repaired, and serviced piston dies as per inspection checklists and drawings.
? Measure and verify die dimensions, clearances, alignment, and wear using precision
instruments (e.g., Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, CMM if applicable).
? Conduct pre-production and post-production die inspection and record observations.
2. Tool Maintenance Support
? Assist toolmakers in identifying die wear, cracks, or damage and recommend corrective actions.
? Verify die condition after polishing, welding, or machining operations.
? Ensure correct die assembly and parting line matching.
3. Documentation & Reporting
? Maintain die inspection reports, tool history cards, and dimensional records.
? Communicate findings to tool design and maintenance teams for corrective actions.
? Support periodic audit of dies and maintain inspection logbooks.
4. Quality & Process Adherence
? Ensure die checking is carried out as per standard operating procedures and qualitystandards (ISO/IATF).
? Identify potential die issues that can affect casting quality (flash, mismatch, shrinkage defects, etc.).
? Ensure proper handling, storage, and tagging of inspected dies.
5. Safety & 5S Compliance
? Follow all safety procedures while handling dies and inspection tools.
? Maintain cleanliness and organization in the tool inspection area.
Required Skills & Competencies:
? Strong knowledge of aluminum die casting process and piston tooling.
? Ability to read and interpret 2D/3D die drawings.
? Hands-on experience with precision measuring instruments.
? Good understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
? Basic computer skills for data entry and report preparation (MS Excel, ERP entry, etc.).
? Analytical mindset and attention to detail
