Key Responsibilities:
Identify and build strong relationships with domestic and international diamond suppliers.
Negotiate best prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
Evaluate diamond quality (4Cs: Cut, Clarity, Color, Carat) before purchase.
Verify certifications (GIA, IGI, HRD, etc.) and ensure compliance with company quality standards.
Maintain updated knowledge of diamond market trends, prices, and supply chain developments.
Manage purchase orders, vendor records, and stock replenishment plans.
Coordinate closely with the assortment, production, and design departments.
Ensure timely procurement to support smooth production and sales operations.
Review supplier performance and maintain transparency in transactions.
Prepare purchase reports and submit periodic updates to management.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Deep understanding of diamond grading and certification standards.
Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
Excellent vendor management and communication abilities.
Attention to detail and accuracy in evaluation and documentation.
Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP, or jewelry inventory software.
Ethical, reliable, and process-oriented professional approach.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Gemology, or a related field.
Diploma or certification in Diamond Grading or Gemology preferred.
5-10 years
of experience in diamond procurement or related field (retail jewelry or manufacturing).
Familiarity with both
loose and certified diamonds
markets.
