To provide safe, efficient, and compassionate dialysis treatment to patients with kidney-related conditions, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, infection control practices, and patient safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care
Prepare patients for dialysis treatment, including pre-dialysis assessment (vital signs, weight, etc.).
Explain the dialysis procedure and provide reassurance to patients.
Monitor patients throughout dialysis, recognizing and promptly responding to complications.
Provide post-dialysis care and record patient outcomes.
Dialysis Procedure
Set up, operate, and monitor dialysis machines and related equipment.
Perform priming, cannulation, and connection/disconnection procedures.
Administer prescribed dialysis therapy under the guidance of the nephrologist.
Maintain accurate records of treatment, fluid balance, and complications.
Equipment & Safety
Ensure all dialysis machines are properly cleaned, disinfected, and maintained.
Follow strict infection control and biomedical waste management protocols.
Report and troubleshoot technical issues with machines and water treatment systems.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain treatment logs and patient records accurately.
Report any adverse events or unusual observations immediately to the concerned doctor/nurse in-charge.
Assist in maintaining stock of consumables, dialyzers, and other supplies.
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma / Certificate in Dialysis Technology (DDT / CDDT) or equivalent.
Preferably 1-2 years of experience in a dialysis unit (fresher may also apply).
Basic knowledge of dialysis procedures, infection control, and patient safety.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in rotational shifts and emergency situations.
