1. The main responsibility of the dialysis technician is to observe, monitor and record the important data during the dialysis procedure treatment.
2. He must administer the drugs and the local anesthetic and the physician will supervise his work.
3. During the dialysis procedure he must assess the patients for any complication occur.
4. It is his responsibility to connect machine to access the catheter site of the patient of forearm to start blood diffusing through the dialyses which is an instrument used for dialysis.
5. For the kidney failure patients he must set and operate the hemodialysis device and must provide the dialysis treatment under him supervision of the physician.
6. Performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation or administering oxygen is some of the necessary emergency measures which have to be taken by the dialysis technician.
7. He must transport the patient to the dialysis area and must place the patient in an easy chair at the hemodialysis machine.
8. The accessing area like fistula, catheter or graft must be cleaned by the dialysis technician using the antiseptic solution.
9. It is the responsibility of the dialysis technician to record the predialysis blood pressure, temperature, respiration rate, weight and the pulse rate of the patient.
10. He must ensure the treaty to safety standards by inspecting the equipment settings which includes conductivity, temperature and pressure.
11. He must assemble or setup the tubes and dialyses to the machine.
12. He must relive the anxiety of the patient before the treatment starts by explaining the procedure.
