Key Responsibilities
1. Patient Care & Dialysis Procedures
Perform pre-dialysis assessment (vitals, weight, access site condition).
Conduct hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis as per prescribed protocols.
Monitor patients during and after dialysis for complications such as hypotension, cramps, or access-related issues.
Handle dialysis emergencies promptly and inform the management authorities.
Educate patients and families about diet, fluid restrictions, and post-dialysis care.
2. Equipment & Machine Management
Operate, calibrate, servicing and troubleshoot dialysis machines, water treatment units, and RO plants.
Ensure regular disinfection, cleaning, and sterilization of machines.
Maintain records of machine usage, maintenance, and breakdowns.
Report technical issues to management authorities.
3. Supervisory Responsibilities
Guide and mentor junior dialysis technicians and nursing staff.
Prepare duty rosters and assign responsibilities in the dialysis unit.
Ensure adequate stock of consumables (dialyzers, catheters, dialysate, heparin, etc.).
Monitor adherence to infection control and biomedical waste disposal protocols.
4. Compliance & Documentation
Maintain patient records, dialysis logs, and treatment reports accurately.
Ensure compliance with NABH, state health regulations, and biomedical waste management rules.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and dialysis audits.
Skills & Competencies
Expertise in hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis procedures.
Knowledge of water treatment systems and dialysis machine troubleshooting.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and handle critical patients.
