OVERVIEW: - POSITION - DIALYSIS TECHNICIAN

A. Patient Preparation & Care

Prepare patients for hemodialysis procedures as per prescription.

Verify patient identity, dialysis order, and dialysis parameters.

Record pre-dialysis assessment including: (Weight, Blood Pressure, Pulse, Temperature)

Explain the procedure and ensure patient comfort and safety.

B. Dialysis Procedure Management

Set up, operate, and monitor hemodialysis machines.

Ensure correct dialyzer, tubing, and solutions are used.

Initiate dialysis and monitor patient condition throughout the session.

Monitor and document: (Blood flow rate, Dialysate flow, Ultrafiltration, Patient Vitals)

Identify and manage intra-dialytic complications such as: (Hypertension, Muscle cramps, Vomiting)

Inform nephrologist immediately in case of adverse events.

A. Machine & Water Treatment Maintenance

Perform daily checks and calibration of dialysis machines.

Ensure proper functioning of RO plant and water treatment systems.

Conduct and document:

Chemical disinfection

Heat disinfection

Endotoxin testing (as per protocol)

Report machine faults or alarms to biomedical / maintenance team.

B. Infection Control & NABH Compliance

Follow strict infection control protocols.

Ensure proper hand hygiene and PPE usage.

Maintain segregation and disposal of biomedical waste.

Adhere to NABH standards and dialysis unit SOPs.

Participate in audits, mock drills, and training programs.

C. Documentation & Record Keeping

Maintain accurate dialysis treatment records.

Document patient vitals, machine parameters, and complications.

Complete dialysis flow sheets and log books.

Maintain inventory records of (Dialyzers, Consumables, medications)

Assist in preparation of reports for insurance and audits.

D. Emergency & Support Duties

Assist nephrologist during emergency dialysis.

Provide first aid in case of emergencies.

Coordinate with ICU, nursing staff, and doctors when required.

Support during night shifts, rotational duties, and on-call hours.

E. Administrative & Team Responsibilities

Maintain coordination with: (doctors, nurses, biomedical engineers)

Attend departmental meetings and training sessions.

Follow hospital HR policies and code of conduct.

F. Qualifications & Skills

Diploma / B.Sc. in Dialysis Technology

Relevant experience in dialysis unit preferred

Knowledge of dialysis machines and RO systems

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ?18,000.00 - ?20,000.00 per month
