The Dialysis Technologist performs routine dialysis procedures, monitors patient responses, manages equipment, and ensures adherence to treatment protocols. Plays a key role in daily dialysis unit functions under clinical supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled hemodialysis sessions as per the prescribed plan.
Prepare the dialysis machine and patient access points.
Monitor patient vitals and machine settings during procedures.
Document treatment data and report abnormalities to the senior technician or nephrologist.
Clean, disinfect, and maintain dialysis machines post-session.
Ensure proper handling and availability of disposables.
Follow safety, aseptic, and biomedical waste protocols.
Provide emotional support and instructions to patients and caregivers.
Qualifications:
Diploma or B.Sc. in Dialysis Technology
Should be familiar with RO water systems and machine operation
Experience:
1-4 years of experience in a dialysis center or hospital setup
Competencies:
Proficient in cannulation techniques and machine operation
Good observation and documentation skills
Patient-friendly communication and empathy
Ability to respond quickly to clinical complications
