Leading the understanding of the category to identify new opportunity areas and conceptualize new products. Understanding the need for new products in respective segments and support in building long term portfolio plan
Understanding customer requirements related to Product and translate the same into cost effective product/technical solutions. Communicate and track the same to the program teams dynamically for implementation
Analysis of relevant Industry data like Jato and volume forecast database
Drive product definition along with stakeholders - including specifications, vehicle attributes, subjective evaluation parameters, targets, powertrain attributes, vehicle architecture and CMF
Undertake plans for refreshes, new development and develop the segment specific roadmap
Facilitate product related communication to internal stakeholders by preparing detailed product dockets at various stages of product development
Interfacing & controlling the complexity involved in product development by balancing the needs of the Marketing/sales team and the product development team. Negotiate product line up and variant proposals based on market and customer research
Regularly report to management the status of project and monitor schedules/timelines along with cost and performance
Studying the applicable regulations for future compliance. Track and analyse relevant industry data points like market trends/ segment shifts (Global), consumer trends, & competitor activities
Strong understanding of Business financial fundamentals and material cost drivers for preparing product business cases
Experience
10 to 15 years relevant experience with at least 2 years in a customer facing function like Sales/Marketing/Customer Care etc. Product Planning and Program Management / Product Development experience will be preferred
Industry Preferred
Qualifications
BE/ B. Tech / M. Tech in Mechanical/Automotive Engineering, MBA Marketing desirable
