Purpose of the Job
As the Circle leader for Legal & Regulatory function, the job is the end-to-end owner of all aspects concerning Litigation, Circle Contracts, and Regulatory Authority ecosystem management.
As a Circle Executive Committee Member, and advisor to the CEO of the Circle, the role requires deft balancing of the circle business priorities, while ensuring due compliance with all national, and state specific laws and by-laws governing the operations.
As a Leader, the role demands channelizing of the team, and ensuring the L&R unit maintains strong rapport with the complex ecosystem of TERM cells, Police & Security Agencies, Lawyers, and any other external stakeholders with whom we touch base for our business needs.
What will you do?

• End-to-end ownership of Circle Legal and Regulatory requirements
• Advisory support to all other functions viz. Marketing, Sales, Customer Experience, Finance, Supply Chain, by providing required assistance and advice on Legal aspects of their respective processes
• Litigation & Contract Management and de-risking of the business at Circle - setting up templatised Contracting processes to sharpen speed of business delivery
• Setting up robust processes for the Regulatory Operations and de-risking the business by ensuring compliance and submission of reports and compliances to authorities
• Maintaining strong relations with all Regulatory Authorities, TERM Cells, and any other Govt. Agency to empower business solutions
• Business partnering and ensuring ease of doing business, while mitigating risk to the business on processes, as well as exigency case support
• Ensuring all Statutory & Regulatory Compliances, internal and external.
• Engaging and Advising Advocates/Sr. Advocates in high exposure matters at different forums

What you need to have

• Minimum LLB (Professional) or equivalent with 10 to 15 years' experience as a circle legal and regulatory head with a Telecom Service Provider, and an additional business or law related qualifications/degree would be an advantage
• A peoples manager having experience as an advocate, and also having experience in dealing with the telecom regulators and other DoT/TERM/TRAI/Law & Order officials
• Having full knowledge of court processes and practices. Having independent handled high exposer litigation
