Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Site Engineering Head to lead engineering operations at our API manufacturing facility. The role at Deputy General Manager (DGM) level will oversee utilities, equipment, projects, and maintenance, ensuring compliance, reliability, and efficiency across site operations. The incumbent will play a critical role in supporting GMP manufacturing, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring regulatory readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Operations
Lead site engineering functions including utilities, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and civil infrastructure.
Ensure uninterrupted operations of critical systems (boilers, chillers, HVAC, water systems, effluent treatment plants).
Maintenance & Reliability
Drive preventive and predictive maintenance programs for API manufacturing equipment.
Implement reliability-centered maintenance to minimize downtime and optimize asset performance.
Projects & Capex
Plan and execute capital projects, expansions, and technology upgrades.
Oversee equipment installation, qualification, and commissioning.
Compliance & Safety
Ensure adherence to GMP, regulatory, and EHS standards (USFDA, EMA, WHO, MHRA).
Support audits and inspections with robust documentation and compliance practices.
Leadership & Collaboration
Lead and mentor the engineering team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and innovation.
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and regulatory teams to align engineering support with production needs.
Sustainability & Efficiency
Drive energy conservation, waste reduction, and sustainability initiatives.
Optimize engineering processes for cost efficiency and operational excellence.
Candidate Profile
Education: B.E./B.Tech/M.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical or related engineering discipline.
Experience:
15-20 years in pharmaceutical engineering, with at least 5-7 years in API manufacturing facilities.
Proven expertise in utilities, process equipment, and regulatory compliance.
Skills:
Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
Hands-on knowledge of engineering systems in chemical/API plants.
Experience managing large teams and multi-crore engineering budgets.
