Job Description

A Diesel Generator (DG) operator is responsible for ensuring a continuous and reliable power supply by operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting DG sets. This involves tasks like starting, stopping, and monitoring the generator, as well as performing routine maintenance and addressing any malfunctions. Key Responsibilities of a DG Operator:

Operating:

Starting, stopping, and monitoring DG sets to ensure proper functioning.

Maintenance:

Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and system inspections.

Troubleshooting:

Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical or electrical issues, implementing corrective actions.

Monitoring:

Continuously monitoring generator performance metrics like voltage, frequency, engine temperature, and load.

Reporting:

Providing daily reports on generator performance, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered.

Safety:

Ensuring the generator operates within safe and optimal conditions to prevent damage or inefficiency.

Documentation:

Maintaining records of maintenance and troubleshooting activities.

Compliance:

Adhering to safety regulations and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:

Basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems. Ability to read and understand technical manuals. Strong problem-solving skills. Good communication skills for reporting and collaborating with others. Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and procedures. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
