Job Description

The Operation and Maintenance Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the efficient operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment. This includes conducting routine checks, troubleshooting mechanical issues, managing preventive and corrective maintenance schedules, and supporting the continuous improvement of plant equipment reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform regular inspections and maintenance of mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, gearboxes, valves, piping systems, HVAC units, and rotating machinery. Troubleshoot mechanical failures and implement timely repairs to reduce equipment downtime. Execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs in line with industry best practices. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, service records, and spare parts inventory. Collaborate with other departments to plan equipment shutdowns and overhauls. Monitor equipment performance data and recommend improvements for efficiency and reliability. Ensure all mechanical maintenance activities comply with safety standards and regulations. Supervise and coordinate work with contractors and external service providers. Support installation, testing, and commissioning of new mechanical systems. Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in industrial, manufacturing, or plant environments. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, maintenance techniques, and safety standards. Good problem-solving, planning, and organizational skills. Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility to work in shifts or be on-call for emergency maintenance.
