Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Exadata database administrator (\"DBMA\") with the desire to drive the modernization of the way we operate. Working within a global team of DBAs and Infrastructure Developers, you will have particular responsibility for the engineered systems components that runs Oracle databases within our internal private cloud. The DevOps team is responsible for the availability, performance and monitoring of our Oracle Product offerings. And as a leader in this team, you will place particular emphasis on the automation of operational tasks and delivery of self-service functions that empower our customers and streamline their processing. At the same time your traditional operations experience will help ensure that the underlying platform is stable and secure and supporting change at the speed of business.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot incidents, conduct blameless post-incident evaluations and ensure permanent closure of incident

• Design, develop, test and deliver the software to automate manual operational work and ensure application performance and resiliency

• Engage with development teams to help create software for reliability and scale, ensuring minimal refactoring or changes

• Contribute to strategy of a best in class monitoring frameworks to accomplish end to end flow monitoring and noiseless alerting

• Coach or manage teams as applicable

• Experienced in troubleshooting production issues

• Able to drive to root cause

• Design and implement automation for problem remediation or prevention

• Adaptable team player with a passion for learning and problem-solving

• Knowledge of Incident and Change management process

• Automation of administrative tasks via scripting: shell, ansible, perl, or python

Key Skills:

Oracle Exadata Database machine Administrator skillsets :

• Exadata imaging /rebuilding the machine from factory and Bare Metal Restore of the Exadata machines

- Exadata full stack patching on InfiniBand, Power, Units, Compute & Storage machines, zfs storage appliances - Imaging and configuring ZFS appliances.

- Oracle Exadata hardware's Firmware updates - ILOMs' of Storage/Compute and switches.

• Network setup for the Exadata Machines

• Knowledge on Hardware replacements of Exadata components

• Experience in Non-Exadata to Exadata migrations

• Expertise in oracle database administration of versions through 19c on Linux

- SQL and system performance & tuning - SMART IO

• Backup and restore : Exadata recoveries on critical corruptions

• Data guard and replication technologies

• Installation, patching and upgrades

• Database build and patching

• Oracle DBRM knowledge

• Exadata IORM setups
