DevOps Lead (US Shift)
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced DevOps Lead to anchor and drive end-to-end DevOps
implementation and managed operations for enterprise-grade, cloud-native platforms. The role
requires deep hands-on expertise in AWS, Kubernetes (EKS & self-managed), Terraform,
CI/CD automation, security, and observability, along with the ability to lead a DevOps team,
mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with engineering, QA, and architecture teams.
This role is critical in building scalable, secure, and highly available platforms while ensuring
operational excellence in a US shift environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. DevOps Architecture & Platform Ownership
Own the design, implementation, and evolution of cloud infrastructure on AWS.
Architect and manage Kubernetes platforms (EKS and self-managed clusters on EC2)
for enterprise workloads.
Define standards for networking, security, IAM, and cluster governance.
Ensure high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance across environments.
2. CI/CD & Release Engineering
Design and implement end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins / GitHub Actions.
Integrate quality and security gates including:
SonarQube
Trivy / container vulnerability scanning
Artifact repositories (ECR / Nexus)
Drive deployment strategies such as:
Blue/Green
Canary
Rolling updates using Helm
Ensure reliable rollback and release validation mechanisms.
3. Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Lead infrastructure automation using Terraform with strong module-based design.
Manage multi-environment setups (dev, stage, prod).
Implement remote state management, locking, and version control.
Enforce IaC best practices including code reviews, security, and reusability.
4. Security & Compliance
Own secrets management using AWS Secrets Manager / Vault.
Design and implement certificate management and rotation (ACM, cert-manager).
Implement container and dependency scanning across pipelines.
Enforce RBAC, network policies, least-privilege IAM, and audit logging.
5. Observability & Operations
Build and maintain observability stacks using:
Prometheus
Grafana
CloudWatch
Define production-grade dashboards and alerting strategies.
Lead incident triage, root-cause analysis (RCA), and post-mortems.
Ensure SLAs, SLOs, and operational KPIs are met.
6. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers.
Act as the primary DevOps point of contact for engineering, product, and leadership
teams.
Drive best practices, documentation, and operational playbooks.
Communicate effectively with global stakeholders in the US shift.
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have
7 10+ years of experience in DevOps / Platform Engineering roles.
Strong hands-on expertise with AWS (EC2, VPC, IAM, EKS, ECR, S3, CloudWatch).
Deep understanding of Kubernetes internals (control plane, networking, scheduling,
storage).
Proven experience with Terraform in large-scale, multi-environment setups.
Strong CI/CD experience using Jenkins / GitHub Actions.
Hands-on experience with Helm for Kubernetes deployments.
Solid experience in monitoring, logging, and alerting.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills; ability to articulate technical decisions clearly.
Good-to-Have
Experience with self-managed Kubernetes clusters on EC2.
Exposure to Vault or advanced secrets management.
Experience with service meshes
Knowledge of SRE practices and reliability engineering.
Cloud certifications (AWS / Kubernetes / Terraform).
Shift & Work Model
US Shift (overlap with US business hours is mandatory)
