At Beinex, customer experience is at the forefront of everything we do. To help us build functional systems that improve customer experience we are now looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer. They will be responsible for deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet our customers' needs.

Responsibilities

1. Managing AWS Cloud Servers (Windows and Linux):

Provisioning, configuring, and managing AWS EC2 instances for both Windows and Linux operating systems Implementing security best practices for server hardening and access control Monitoring server health and performance to ensure optimal operation

2. On-Premises Server Management:

Managing and maintaining on-premises Windows and Linux servers to support the organisation's infrastructure Regularly applying updates, patches, and security fixes to keep servers up-to-date

3. Ensuring 24x7 Production Server Availability:

Implementing high availability and fault-tolerance measures to ensure continuous operation of critical production servers Setting up and monitoring redundancy and failover mechanisms to minimise downtime

4. Application Performance Management:

Collaborating with developers to analyse application performance metrics and identify areas for improvement Configuring server resources appropriately to optimise application performance Troubleshooting and resolving performance-related issues

5. Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving:

Identifying potential issues proactively and taking preventive measures Analysing complex problems and designing effective solutions to address them Reacting promptly and effectively to incidents, outages, and security threats

6. Disaster Recovery Planning:

Designing and implementing disaster recovery plans and backup strategies to ensure data integrity and availability Performing regular backups and testing recovery procedures

7. Security and Compliance:

Ensuring adherence to security best practices and compliance requirements in both cloud and on-premises environments Implementing security measures to protect against unauthorised access and data breaches

8. Automation and Continuous Improvement:

Developing and maintaining automation scripts to streamline server management tasks Continuously seeking opportunities to optimise processes and enhance system efficiency

9. Collaboration and Documentation:

Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including developers, to achieve common objectives Document server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides for knowledge sharing and future reference Responsible for maintaining a stable, secure, and highly available infrastructure, ensuring the smooth functioning of applications and responding promptly to incidents Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are vital for handling complex situations and making data-driven decisions to meet the organisation's operational and business needs
Key Skills Requirements

1. Windows/Linux Server Administration:

Proficient in managing and maintaining Windows and Linux servers Installation, configuration, and regular maintenance of server environments Monitoring server performance and troubleshooting issues

2. Application Performance Analysis:

Analyzing application performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement Implementing optimisations to enhance application performance

3. Deploying Python-Django Applications:

Experience in deploying Python-Django applications using Gunicorn Proficiency in setting up and managing Django application environments

4. Web Servers:

Proficient in configuring and managing Nginx and IIS web servers Handling web server configurations to optimise performance and security

5. AWS Cloud Services:

Hands-on experience with AWS services like EC2, IAM, Route 53, SSL, S3, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, SES, and RDS Ability to design, deploy, and manage applications on the AWS cloud

6. DevOps Tools:

Jenkins: Knowledge of setting up Jenkins in a master-slave configuration, managing users/groups/roles, updating Jenkins, and handling plugins Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash, Batch, and Python for automation tasks Docker: Experience with containerisation using Docker for application deployment Terraform: Ability to write infrastructure as code using Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud resources

Pay: ?341,637.71 - ?920,030.32 per year
