Research LRL Tech@Lilly unites science with technology to accelerate LRL pipeline and to deliver therapeutic innovations. Our work helps researchers follow the science to understand the disease as well as to identify potential therapies. We achieve this by leveraging technology and platforms to streamline scientific experimentation. We organize and manage high-quality data to drive analysis. We build advanced analytics platforms for scientists to rapidly analyze and visualize data in a scalable and reproducible way. As a software engineer, you will be part of the team in LCCI designing, building and operationalising platforms for processing data and managing analytics. You will utilize best software engineering practices to bring rigour and automation to the platforms and systems you will build. You will be leveraging both on-prem and cloud-based infrastructure making right architecture decisions to help move science along faster. You will partner closely with Research LRL Tech@Lilly leadership, Infrastructure and Info-Security organizations to ensure that your architecture decisions align well. Most importantly, you will have the opportunity to work in a highly technical, high pace, team focused, and scientifically challenging areas to accommodate ever-changing research environment. Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with software development teams to understand project requirements and ensure smooth integration and deployment processes.
• Participate in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the build, release, and deployment pipelines.
• Assist in configuring and managing the cloud infrastructure, including server provisioning, monitoring, and scaling.
• Work with the development team to troubleshoot and resolve build and deployment issues.
• Help automate and streamline the software delivery process.
• Monitor system health and performance, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.
• Maintain and improve version control systems, such as Git.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest DevOps tools, trends, and best practices, and propose new solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Collaborate with the IT team to ensure security and compliance standards are met in the infrastructure and deployments.
• Assist in documenting processes and maintaining system and operational documentation.

Essential Skills:

• Bachelor\'s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Proven experience or internships in software development, systems administration, or a related field
• Familiarity with programming languages like Python, Ruby, Bash, or similar

• Ability to script and automate workflows using python, Go, JavaScript etc.
• Basic understanding of Linux/Unix systems and system administration.
• Knowledge of configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Familiarity with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) concepts and tools like Jenkins, Travis CI, or GitHub Actions.
• Basic understanding of cloud computing platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Knowledge of version control systems in local and on cloud, particularly Git and GitHub.
• Experience or familiarity with docker/containers and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Knowledge on IAC tools such as terraform, AWS CDK, AWS CloudFormation etc.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with an eagerness to learn new technologies and tools.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Desired Skills:

• Certified in AWS/Azure or other cloud compute technologies
• Knowledge of Serverless compute
• Contributed to open source projects or has good exposure to open source tools.
• Scripted Jenkins Pipelines using Groovy previously
