Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer with strong experience in Ubuntu
Server administration and web application hosting using Apache. The ideal candidate will
be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing server infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance of web applications.

Key Responsibilities:

? Administer and manage Ubuntu-based servers in production and development environments.
? Configure, deploy, and maintain Apache Web Server for hosting web applications.
? Automate deployment processes and infrastructure management using shell scripts or
configuration management tools.
? Monitor server performance, security, and uptime; proactively address issues and incidents.
? Apply OS and software patches, updates, and upgrades regularly.
? Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting tools to ensure system reliability.
? Collaborate with developers to ensure smooth deployment and integration of application code.
? Maintain proper documentation of configurations, procedures, and system architecture.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
? Proven experience with Ubuntu Server administration (18.04/20.04/22.04).
? Strong hands-on expertise with Apache HTTP Server configuration, tuning, and troubleshooting.
? Good understanding of DNS, SSL/TLS, virtual hosts, and reverse proxies.
? Experience with firewall rules, network configurations, and basic security hardening.
? Familiarity with version control tools like Git.
? Basic scripting skills in Bash/Shell.
? Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, even at a basic level, is a plus.
? Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have):

? Experience with PHP/Python or similar back-end languages.
? Familiarity with Nginx, Docker, or other web server/containerization tools.
? Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, DigitalOcean, Linode, etc.)
? Knowledge of Let's Encrypt or managing SSL certificates manually.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to ?55,000.00 per month
