Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled
Developmental Therapist
to join our team. The therapist will work closely with children and their families to assess developmental needs and implement individualized intervention plans. This role emphasizes early intervention, play-based strategies, and multidisciplinary collaboration to support children's cognitive, social-emotional, motor, and communication development.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct developmental assessments to identify strengths, delays, and needs in children ages 0-12.
Design and implement individualized developmental therapy programs using evidence-based practices.
Use play, structured activities, and routines to promote age-appropriate skill development.
Collaborate with families to support carryover of therapy strategies into the home and community.
Work alongside speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, psychologists, and educators as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including assessment reports, session notes, and progress summaries.
Provide parent coaching and education to empower caregivers in supporting their child's growth.
Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Development, Special Education, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or a related field.
Certification or training in Developmental Therapy (or eligibility to obtain).
Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with children with developmental delays or disabilities.
Strong understanding of child development and early intervention best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Empathy, patience, and a child-centered approach to therapy.
Experience in multidisciplinary settings is an asset.
