- Development Engineer (Sheet Metal Pressings & Fabrications)

Position: Development Engineer

Experience Required: 4 to 6 Years

Department: Product Development / Engineering

B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering (or equivalent).

Key Responsibilities:

1. New Product Development:

Lead development of new sheet metal and fabricated components, including exhaust systems and structural parts.

2. Design & Simulation:

Carry out design feasibility and manufacturability studies.

Perform simulation and analysis (formability, weld strength, flow, vibration, or thermal as applicable) using CAD/CAE software.

Suggest design modifications to improve product performance and manufacturability.

3. Costing & Feasibility:

Prepare detailed component cost estimation, including raw material, processing, tooling, and finishing costs.

Identify cost-saving opportunities through material optimization, process improvement, or design changes.

4. Customer Interaction:

Interface with customers for drawing clarification, technical reviews, and prototype approvals.

Attend design review meetings and provide technical inputs during product development stages.

5. Documentation & Compliance:

Prepare and maintain DFMEA, PPAP, APQP, and BOM documents.

Support sample inspection reports and approval activities.

6. Cross-Functional Coordination:

Work closely with Production, Quality, Purchase, and Tool Room departments for smooth product development.

Ensure development milestones are met as per project timelines.

Required Skills & Competencies:

Strong knowledge of Sheet Metal Forming, Fabrication, Welding, and Exhaust System Design.

Hands-on experience in CAD software (SolidWorks / CATIA / NX / AutoCAD).

Working knowledge of Simulation Software (Ansys / HyperForm / Abaqus / similar).

Good understanding of GD&T, Tolerance Stack-up, and DFMEA.

Knowledge of Component Costing & Estimation.

Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
