Introduction:

  • This role exists to help provide Barclays with a global catalogue of high quality, cost effective and relevant learning content that will support current and future skills development resulting in improved business performance and career mobility.
  • This role will support the overall content ecosystem for Barclays. They support the wider Development team in defining our overall content strategy based on the needs and future of the business ensuring that we have content to meet needs readily available.
  • This role will lead our digital first strategy ensuring that all content is impactful efficient and engaging. They will own the definition of our content catalogues and the learning methodologies and frameworks that support them.
  • This role is critical in connecting the provision of interactive digital, virtual and face to face learning content into our learning architecture and technology. They will work adeptly with a wide variety of content templates ensuring that are all connected and drive the right outcomes.

What will you be doing?
  • Content strategy – The role holder will support with the implementation and alignment content against the learning catalogues and the mobilisation of the overall learning model.
  • Catalogue definition – This role will ensure that Barclays have a catalogue of content fit for the future and mapped against that competences/skills are mapped externally to reputable sources of data and map back to business strategy.
  • Digital providers – The role holder will support with the external digital providers through all touch points from curation & professional services
  • Data and insight – The role holder will leverage a rich set of learner metrics and data from both providers and our learner data in our digital platforms to provide business impact and insight. They will ensure we are able to track cost to serve, content effectiveness and business impact.
  • The role holder will support with the group catalogue vendor network ensuring all providers and vendors can deliver products fit for the future learning model and Barclays.
  • Content frameworks & Content mix – The role holder will support on the content frameworks from awareness to expert. Provide input on the content mix and create consistent approaches for delivery.
  • Content maintenance & governance – Measures impact of content. Is comfortable working with data and insight to drive improvement. Increases efficiency and effectiveness and reduces cost to serve.
  • Content campaigns – The role holder will work proactively with the learning campaign lead to ensure that that there is a strong ongoing content roadmap.
  • Learning pathways – This role will support and provide input on the different methodologies of learning pathways and progressive content that supports this.
  • Technology integration – Works with architecture & content management teams to ensure content is integrated and accessible. Understands key digital criteria and principles and UX approaches.
What we’re looking for:
  • Awareness of future skills, competency models, technical aspects of content management from formats to accessibility standards.
  • Robust planning and organisation approaches with experience of working with agile approaches and methodologies
  • Able to think analytically, analyse data and extract key messages.
  • Knowledge of the full training cycle and able to apply in practice
  • Awareness of content management principles.
  • Understanding of user experience principles, user interface and user journeys.
  • Understanding of working with digital learning platforms and digital solutions
  • Advanced Excel (to Pivot table level) and PowerPoint (Consultancy level)
  • Ability to operate in a global matrix environment
