Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We're looking for a Senior Java Backend Developer to join our ever evolving our ecommerce team and help us unleash the potential of every business.

What you'll own as Senior Java Backend Developer

Hire, mentor, and grow engineers. Give clear goals and regular feedback. Plan delivery. Turn product and engineering goals into a simple, realistic plan. Manage scope, risks, and timelines. Review system and API designs so they are scalable, secure, reliable, and cost?efficient. Improve engineering practices: clean code, automated tests inside the sprint, good documentation, and fast recovery from issues. Promote reuse: use standard design patterns; build shared, configurable modules for logging, security, validation, and other common needs. Work with Product, Architecture, Security, and Compliance teams. Align on standards and priorities. Use data to improve (examples: deployment frequency, lead time to release, change failure rate, MTTR = Mean Time To Recovery). Communicate progress, risks, and trade?offs clearly to technical and non?technical stakeholders.

What you'll bring:

10 or more years of software engineering experience. 3-5+ years recent hands?on backend development in Java and Spring (able to read and review code confidently). 2-3+ years managing people (5 or more engineers). Experience with hiring and performance reviews. Experience building and running cloud systems (AWS) and REST / microservice architectures. Exposure to messaging or streaming tools (Kafka) and containers/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). Strong knowledge of at least one relational database plus NoSQL or caching. Understanding of reliability (uptime), security basics, idempotency (safe repeat of requests), and observability (metrics, logs, traces). Experience creating and improving CI/CD cospipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) for automated build, test, and deploy. Practical use of design patterns and building reusable, configuration?driven components. Good written and verbal English communication. Able to explain complex topics in simple words.

Preferred (Nice to Have)

Experience in payments or financial services (payment flows, handling speed and consistency issues). Event?driven designs (using messages instead of only REST). Performance tuning at scale. Infrastructure as Code using AWS, Kubernetes. Basic cost optimization. Familiarity with DORA metrics (industry delivery metrics) and SLO/SLA (Service Level Objectives/Agreements). Mentoring engineers toward Senior and Design Lead level responsibilities.

About the Team

We are part of Alternative Payment Method (APM) domain and process non-card payments (E- wallets, Bank Transfer, Direct Debits, BNPL, Open Banking) across globe. Our solutions help Merchants by providing them with the capability to handle online transactions and settlement of funds.


You will get an opportunity to work on the Cloud native microservices for APM/PSP connector as part of Tech modernization project that uses cutting edge technology stack.
