Job Summary

• The Rules Engine team is responsible for Regulatory checks within Standard Chartered. The development team is driven to provide world class technology to support the bank's Financial Markets business. • As a developer, you'll be driving our platform forwards and delivering quality solutions to business-critical customer requirements. Based in Bangalore, you will collaborate in a dynamic global team with fellow technologists, business analysts, project managers and business stakeholders across multiple locations.
• As a developer with strong backend experience (mandatory), you will be expected to hit the ground running delivering quality solutions to business-critical customer requirements. Key Attributes

• An excellent backend developer with good software design principles and the ability to write robust code and accompanying test suites.
• Ability to write efficient, clear code and be able to articulate what has been implemented and why.
• Self-starter who can drive/facilitate requirements and development effort
• Take ownership and responsibility for the full development lifecycle
• Experience working in an agile development environment
• A team player, capable of engaging with other teams
• Experience in the end-to-end design, development, and support of financial markets systems
• Experience with real-time (event-driven) architectures
• Provide second line support
• Domain knowledge in derivatives e-trading is a plus

Qualifications
Technical skills:

• Strong programming skills in Core Java
• Good understanding of Cassandra, kafka, hazelcast, avro
• Good hands-on Data structure and Algorithms.
• Good knowledge about Design Patterns and Principles
• Good knowledge on consuming data from RestAPI in a performance efficient way.
• Good knowledge on Unit testing and code coverage using JUnit/Mockito
• Good knowledge on code quality tools like SonarQube, Security Scans etc.
• Good knowledge on containerized platforms like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, EKS (AWS)
• Good knowledge in Enterprise Application Integration patterns (synchronous, asynchronous) . Consuming streaming data.
• Good knowledge in Event driven programming. Frameworks like Rxjs.
• Good knowledge on multi-threading and multi-processing implementations
• Experience in RDBMS (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL) , Knowledge on SQL queries
• Knowledge on Microservices based development and implementation.
• Knowledge on CI-CD pattern with related tools like Azure DevOps, GIT, Bitbucket, Knowledge on JSON libraries like Jackson/GSON.
• Knowledge on basic Unix Commands.
• Possess good documentation and presentation skills.
• Able to articulate ideas, designs, and suggestions.

Good to Have

• Continuous Testing - TDD, LeanFT, Cucumber, Gherkin, Jboss
• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience of Code Quality Tools like Sonar, Check style, find bug will be plus.

Functional skills:

• Regulatory knowledge is a plus
• Investment banking is a strong plus
• Financial Markets is a plus

Soft skills:

• Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
• Strong ownership and ability to deal with ambiguity
• Outstanding problem-solving skills

Skills and Experience

• Strong Java development background with good hands-on experience in data structures and, algorithms and concurrency frameworks
• Experience in Messaging systems like Kafka, distributed caching systems like hazel cast, NoSQL systems like Cassandra
• Sound technical understanding of Micro Services, REST API, XML, HTTP, MQ
