Job Summary Responsible for planning and designing new software and web applications. Analyzes, tests and assists with the integration of new applications. Documents all development activity. Assists with training non-technical personnel. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Usually determines own work priorities. In this role, you will have an opportunity to be a key product builder within Comcast Technology Solution\'s exciting new cyber security business unit, which sells SaaS and subscription security solutions to the large enterprise and federal governments. . This is a dynamic, fast-paced business unit that resides within a highly entrepreneurial division of Comcast that takes what Comcast builds internally and commercializes it for external usage. Currently, two solutions, BluVector and DataBee, both used internally by the Comcast CISO organization, are sold by the business unit. These solutions are advanced threat detection, advanced threat hunting and security operations center and compliance offerings that improve security and compliance in a cost-effective manner. The Security Developer role is responsible for developing and executing on a critical portion of the new DataBee product, which is the industry\'s first security, risk and compliance data fabric platform. A SaaS solution built on the top cloud-native hosting and data technology, this solution is used widely in Comcast\'s security and GRC teams and has delivered tremendous cost savings as well as faster detections, less noise, and higher compliance. In this role, you will be a key member of our data pipeline / engineering team. You will help build event driven data pipelines to monitor, detect, and investigate cyber security threats and incidents. You will have the opportunity to groom requirements, develop the solution, perform testing and validation, be exposed to other DataBee scrum teams, and have ongoing technical leadership. You will also have the opportunity to learn from security practitioners in the United States who have built highly effective security products that scale to over 1M endpoints, > 45 TB data throughput and 150,000 workforce identities. Core Responsibilities Responsible for design, implementation, and documentation of log monitoring, Extract Transform Load (ETL), and configuration management Performs deployment, testing, and validation of networking and system components Recommends alterations and additions to existing designs to improve quality of products Works with operational teams to develop and improve monitoring solutions, plan and schedule maintenance, and implementing changes Develop standards and procedures for managing, monitoring, and updating systems and applications Communicates progress of work in progress, key initiatives, and walkthroughs on complex designs and architecture Works under immediate supervision - Typically reports to a supervisor or manager Required Experience and Skills Bachelor\'s degree in computer science or similar, and at least 6 years of experience in the field or in a related area Experience in deploying systems and applications, monitoring, ETL, and configuration management Working knowledge with ETL systems, ETL using Logstash, storage/planning with Elasticsearch, and shipping data with Elastic Beats Experience with Cybersecurity systems, tools, and environments Strong skillset in deployment and network operations, or sys-admins who have a background in scripting and coding Strong communication skills understanding the value of good documentation, ability to detail complex systems in simple language, and express concerns about design and architecture with appropriate solutions Technology experience and skillsets: AWS: Cloudwatch, CloudFormation, OpsWorks Open Source: Ansible, Apache Kafka, Apache Storm, Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, Elastic, Hashicorp Terraform Monitoring and Visibility: Prometheus, Influxdb, Cloudwatch, Netdata, other time series database SIEM Systems such as Splunk.
