Mission and objectives:
Universal versatile society is a non-political, non-communal and nonprofit making, non-governmental voluntary social organization registered under Societies Registration Act-XXI of 1860 with Registration No. Maha/514/05/Akola on dated 30/06/2005 by the authority of Govt. of Maharashtra's Asstt. Registrar of Societies, Akola Region - India.

Objectives of the organization:
1. To promote socially, culturally, economically, and/or ecologically sustainable goals through our advocacy projects and transform a village Nagthana into eco village.
2. To save the life of farmers in Vidarbha by serving them through Mental Health Project in 128 villages.
3. To reset the agro-economy of rural Vidarbha through deployment of regenerative agriculture practices which further facilitate marketing of produce through 'Family Farmer' project.
4. To encourage learning in local environment by rejuvenate public schools through digitalization and Project Based Learning concept which ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote learning opportunities for all.
5. Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels.
6. To utilize the potential of women in society and empower them through education and involving them in community development mission.
Context:
Our organization is accredited by the UNEP and UNCCD and holds special consultative status with the UN ECOSOC. We are committed to addressing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 12, 13, 14, 15, and 17. For many years, we have been publishing the "Weekly World Climate Change News," and we are now expanding our efforts to include information on the United Nations SDGs.
Through our weekly news updates, we aim to raise awareness about the Sustainable Development Goals and inform the public about global actions being taken to achieve these goals. Raising awareness about the SDGs is vital for several reasons: it mobilizes action, fosters a sense of ownership, enhances accountability, leverages resources, and shapes policies and priorities. By promoting awareness of the SDGs, we encourage both individual and collective responsibility, drive action, promote transparency, and mobilize resources towards these goals. Ultimately, this contributes to a more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable future for all by empowering individuals, influencing policies, and encouraging collaboration.
This Online Volunteer assignment supports the preparatory phase for the relaunch of United Nations News under the Universal Versatile Society. The focus is on establishing a strategic foundation for a global digital campaign aimed at raising awareness about SDG 13 (Climate Action), SDG 17 (Partnerships), SDG 4 (Quality Education), and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).

Task description:
Online volunteers will collaborate to develop the strategic plan for the United Nations News initiative focused on SDG and climate awareness. This phase does not include direct media production, but the selected Online Volunteers will establish the project's mission, organizational structure, role distribution, process flow, human resources planning, and marketing approach. Therefore, the four selected candidates will work on the project under the following designation or task-
1. Project Strategy Development Support
This person will create the strategic planning process and ensure alignment among all strategic elements. Manages the development of project vision, mission, objectives, timelines, and overall roadmap. The main tasks include:

  • Define the project vision, mission, and key goals
  • Coordinate the planning team and synchronize efforts
  • Develop the strategic roadmap with defined milestones
  • Facilitate strategic discussions and maintain documentation
2. Organisational Planning Development Support
Designs the internal structure of the project. Creates charts, defines roles, and builds a scalable team structure aligned with project needs. The main tasks include:
  • Create organizational charts and reporting lines
  • Define internal team structures and roles
  • Document responsibilities and interactions between roles
3. Marketing Strategy Development Support
Develops the communication and marketing strategy for distributing SDG content. Plans the audience strategy, channels, KPIs, and tone. The Main tasks include:
  • Develop a content dissemination strategy
  • Define digital platforms and engagement tactics
  • Set performance indicators (KPIs) for reach and impact
4. Volunteer Coordination Support
Develop the document to facilitate internal communication within the strategy team. Supports onboarding, scheduling, and overall team well-being. The main tasks include:
  • Schedule meetings and follow-ups
  • Track team progress and task completion
  • Ensure smooth communication across the team
The team of four volunteers will collaborate and discuss the project through weekly virtual meetings, supervised by members of our organizations..
Requirements:
The selection will be done based on a written assignment followed by a virtual interview. Online Volunteers will be given a role/responsibility based on any of their below-mentioned skills and expertise-
  • Knowledge of organizational design or HR
  • Ability to visualize and structure complex systems
  • Clarity in defining tasks and responsibilities
  • Strong interest or experience in digital communication, journalism, or media production.
  • Familiarity with Instagram, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and online community platforms (e.g., Telegram, Discord).
  • Skills in video editing, graphic design, or copywriting are highly valued.
  • Ability to work in a remote and international team, using collaborative tools.
  • Demonstrated passion for climate action, sustainability, or the SDGs.
  • Knowledge of marketing or communications strategy
  • Understanding of social media trends and tools
  • Ability to connect messaging with audiences
  • Organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in team coordination or support roles
  • Familiarity with tools like Slack, Trello, Zoom
Work Hours: 6 - 10 hours per week
