Power Bi Developer
:
The Power Bi Developer is expected to take on complex problems and solve them from start to end. The position is responsible for understanding product requirements, identifying gaps and innovating processes to fill gaps. Responsibilities:
Reads business requirements and understands impact on functional specifications.
Translates and analyzes software requirements into design specifications and participates in requirement meetings with product management and architects.
Functional understanding of the complexities of Power BI and report development.
Follows established coding, architectural, and UX/UI standards.
Developing logical/algorithmic design without assistance from others (though may consult); may perform some structural, logical design for others.
Assists with peer review of designs
Implements complex code changes to fix identified defects in existing s/w products to add moderate-to-complex enhancements to new/future s/w releases
Creates own logic/algorithm design within scope of assignments with limited assistance of others
Serve as a technical expert on at least one area of the application/product
Provides support for customer questions on new functionality or for escalations of software code issues
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience designing Power BI reports for a commercial scale using a large dataset.
Minimum of 8 years of experience writing SQL to assemble large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements.
Experience with source control is a must.
Strong Knowledge of ETL/Data Warehousing concepts including Analysis Services tabular models.
Proficient in writing DAX expressions.
Some experience with Power BI Embedded using TypeScript API function calls. (Its an added advantage to have this skill)
Experience in writing stored procedures in Snowflake.
Experience in data modelling using DBT. (Its an added advantage to have this skill)
Some experience with one OO Programming language (example C#, Python)
Intermediate skill with engineering tools (IDEs, social, diagraming, compilation, build, testing)
Intermediate written/verbal skills
Intermediate skill with contemporary engineering process (e.g. agile, scrum, Kanban)
BS degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
US healthcare experience is a plus
