Summary

Applies business requirements and knowledge of a full software design lifecycle to develop products that satisfy customer needs. Role Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities: - Develops knowledge and understanding of technologies in LSEG and utilises these in own scope of work and others as well as to create solutions - Autonomously writes clean, efficient code based on specifications to develop complete solutions occasionally utilising multiple languages or technologies - Handles own workload and promotes an open and inclusive culture - Builds knowledge of software development and utilises this knowledge within work - Works on design work and planning for user journeys - Completes the delivery of given tasks with some guidance and oversight - Builds strong relationships with their team and colleagues, collaborating closely with team - Communicates clearly and in a timely manner, keeping clear lines of communication open to ensure full understanding of information and tasks and asking questions where needed - Takes interest to develop knowledge in technology products and tools through on the job learning, certifications and projects. Qualifications & Experience: - Professional qualification or equivalent - Strong knowledge of at least one programming language and the ecosystem of this - Some knowledge of patterns - Previous experience in a Software development and delivery role.

As a Developer in the Index Platform Services team, the individual will be working with a team of developers to implement solutions to support the strategic growth of the Index business.

Role Responsibilities

\xc2\xb7 Designs, develops, and delivers software solutions that align with architecture, operational and risk processes

\xc2\xb7 Identifies, prioritises, and executes tasks in the software development life cycle

\xc2\xb7 Develops tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code

\xc2\xb7 Automates tasks through appropriate tools and scripting

\xc2\xb7 Ensures high quality product through the validation and verification testing of functional and non-functional requirements

\xc2\xb7 Collaborates with internal teams (including Product Owners/Business and other tech teams) and vendors to fix and improve products

\xc2\xb7 Communicates with clarity, precision, and influence, presenting complex information in a concise format that is audience appropriate

Minimum Requirements

\xc2\xb7 Degree in Computer Science or Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

\xc2\xb7 Experience in software development methodologies and Agile based delivery, at least 2 years

\xc2\xb7 Proven experience in test driven development \xe2\x80\x93 unit, component, integration, and automation to support modern DevOps principles

\xc2\xb7 Extensive knowledge of one or more programming languages, third party software products and expertise in - Java, RESTful API, Microservices - Spring Boot

\xc2\xb7 Experience in In-memory caching (Redis), performance tuning, Apache Kafka, DB - Sybase and SQL server, AWS or Azure preferred

\xc2\xb7 Some experience of Business and Technical Analysis

\xc2\xb7 Strong verbal and written communication skills

Business / Sector expertise

\xc2\xb7 Experience in financial services with an understanding of financial market data would be beneficial
