ServiceNow Developer (SAM/HAM primary)

We are seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer with a primary focus on Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in developing, configuring, and optimizing the SAM module within ServiceNow, with additional experience in HAM. The role will involve implementing SaaS modules, configuring entitlement management, reclamation, and demonstrating value from the SAM and HAM implementations. The candidate should be proficient in deploying SAM/HAM plugins and tailoring the system to meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

SAM Module Development:

Lead the design, development, and optimization of the ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) module, focusing on entitlement management, software license compliance, and optimization.

HAM Module Development:

Provide development support for the Hardware Asset Management (HAM) module, configuring asset tracking, lifecycle management, and inventory optimization.

SaaS Deployment:

Implement and configure ServiceNow SaaS management features to ensure proper tracking, compliance, and cost management of SaaS applications within the organization.

Entitlement Management:

Design and configure entitlement management solutions to track and manage software entitlements, ensuring compliance and optimizing license usage.

Software Reclamation:

Implement and manage software reclamation processes to identify underutilized software and reclaim licenses, maximizing software value and reducing costs.

HAM Optimization:

Assist with the optimization of hardware asset tracking and management, focusing on asset lifecycle, procurement, and cost control.

Reporting & Dashboards:

Create reports and dashboards to demonstrate the value of SAM and HAM implementations, showing key metrics such as compliance, reclamation savings, and asset utilization.

Configuration & Customization:

Configure and customize SAM and HAM modules to meet business requirements, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Plugin Management:

Deploy and configure SAM/HAM plugins, tailoring them to deliver the maximum benefit to the organization.

Collaboration:

Work closely with IT asset management teams, procurement, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, develop solutions, and ensure successful implementation of asset management practices.

Documentation & Best Practices:

Create and maintain documentation for all configurations, customizations, and development activities. Ensure adherence to best practices for SAM and HAM within ServiceNow.

Continuous Improvement:

Stay updated on the latest features and best practices for SAM and HAM, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance asset management processes and tools.

Key Requirements:

ServiceNow Expertise:

Strong hands-on experience in developing and configuring ServiceNow modules, with a primary focus on Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM).

SAM Module Expertise:

In-depth knowledge of the SAM module, with experience in entitlement management, software license compliance, reclamation, and optimization.

HAM Module Experience:

Experience in configuring and optimizing the HAM module, focusing on hardware asset tracking, lifecycle management, and inventory control.

SaaS Deployment:

Proven experience in deploying and managing SaaS modules within ServiceNow, ensuring proper tracking and optimization of SaaS licenses.

Configuration & Customization:

Ability to configure and customize SAM and HAM modules to align with business requirements and goals.

Reporting Skills:

Experience in creating reports and dashboards that demonstrate the value and impact of SAM and HAM initiatives.

Problem-Solving:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex asset management challenges.

Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 5+ years of hands-on experience as a ServiceNow developer with expertise in SAM and HAM. ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) is preferred. ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (SAM, HAM) or other relevant certifications. Experience with Agile or Scrum methodologies is a plus. ITIL certification and experience with ITIL best practices.
