Role description

Role Proficiency:



Independently develops error free code with high quality validation of applications guides other developers and assists Lead 1 - Software Engineering


Outcomes:



Understand and provide input to the application/feature/component designs; developing the same in accordance with user stories/requirements.

Code debug test document and communicate product/component/features at development stages.

Select appropriate technical options for development such as reusing improving or reconfiguration of existing components.

Optimise efficiency cost and quality by identifying opportunities for automation/process improvements and agile delivery models

Mentor Developer 1 - Software Engineering and Developer 2 - Software Engineering to effectively perform in their roles

Identify the problem patterns and improve the technical design of the application/system

Proactively identify issues/defects/flaws in module/requirement implementation

Assists Lead 1 - Software Engineering on Technical design. Review activities and begin demonstrating Lead 1 capabilities in making technical decisions

Additional Comments:

Key Responsibilities o Develop and configure custom workflows, business rules, client scripts, UI policies, UI actions, and Service Portal components. o Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into ServiceNow functionality. o Implement new modules and enhancements across ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, SecOps, and other ServiceNow products. o Design and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise tools (e.g., CMDB syncs, SSO, LDAP, REST/SOAP APIs). o Maintain code quality through source control, peer reviews, and following best practices. o Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes. o Prepare technical documentation, test scripts, and deployment plans. o Stay current on ServiceNow features and new releases, recommending improvements or upgrades. Required Qualifications o 3+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience. o Strong proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, and ServiceNow Studio. o Experience with core modules such as Incident, Problem, Change, Knowledge, CMDB, and Asset Management. o Familiarity with ServiceNow integrations using REST, SOAP, and MID Server. o Experience with Service Portal, Flow Designer, and Scoped Applications is a plus. o Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies. o Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications o ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) - Required o ServiceNow Certified Application Developer or Implementation Specialist - Preferred o Experience with ITIL frameworks and process improvement o Background in enterprise IT environments or SaaS platforms
