Role description

Role Proficiency:



Independently develops error free code with high quality validation of applications guides other developers and assists Lead 1 - Software Engineering


Outcomes:



Understand and provide input to the application/feature/component designs; developing the same in accordance with user stories/requirements.

Code debug test document and communicate product/component/features at development stages.

Select appropriate technical options for development such as reusing improving or reconfiguration of existing components.

Optimise efficiency cost and quality by identifying opportunities for automation/process improvements and agile delivery models

Mentor Developer 1 - Software Engineering and Developer 2 - Software Engineering to effectively perform in their roles

Identify the problem patterns and improve the technical design of the application/system

Proactively identify issues/defects/flaws in module/requirement implementation

Assists Lead 1 - Software Engineering on Technical design. Review activities and begin demonstrating Lead 1 capabilities in making technical decisions

o Application Development o Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance Java/Spring Boot web applications. o Create RESTful APIs and microservices architecture with seamless integration to MongoDB. o Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and coding standards. o Technical Ownership o Collaborate with architects, product owners, and front-end teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions. o Participate in all phases of the SDLC, including estimation, planning, development, testing, and deployment. o Ensure applications meet performance, security, and scalability requirements. o Quality & Support o Conduct code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to maintain code quality. o Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production and non-production environments. o Optimize application performance, including database queries and server-side logic. Required Skills & Qualifications o Core Expertise o Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8 or higher) and Spring Boot frameworks. o Hands-on experience with MongoDB, including schema design, indexing, and performance tuning. o In-depth knowledge of RESTful services, JSON, and microservices architecture. o Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and multi-threading. o Development & Tools o Experience with build tools like Maven/Gradle and version control using Git. o Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes). o Knowledge of testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito) and application security practices. o Soft Skills o Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or within a team. o Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in an Agile/Scrum environment.
