We are seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting for various hardware and software issues. This role requires a strong understanding of computer management, networking, and customer service to ensure seamless IT operations within the organization.
Duties
Provide technical support to end-users for desktop and laptop systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems such as Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Manage VPN connections and ensure secure access to the network.
Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure including firewalls, TCP/IP configurations, and DNS settings.
Utilize tools such as SCCM, ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, and Jira for ticketing and issue tracking.
Conduct analysis of system performance and provide recommendations for improvements.
Support mobile devices and ensure compatibility with existing IT systems.
Collaborate with network administration teams to resolve connectivity issues within LAN environments.
Maintain documentation of technical procedures and user guides to enhance knowledge sharing within the team.
Deliver exceptional customer service by effectively communicating with users to understand their needs.
Experience
Candidates should possess a solid foundation in technical support with experience in the following areas:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of desktop support practices including hardware troubleshooting.
Familiarity with IT infrastructure components such as Active Directory and Windows Server environments.
Understanding of computer networking principles including TCP, DNS, LAN configurations, and firewall management.
Strong analytical skills to diagnose problems effectively.
