Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT support team. You will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, software, and network-related issues. This role involves direct user support and requires strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support to end-users for hardware, software, and networking issues.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop systems, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and software.
Maintain and support Microsoft Windows and macOS environments.
Respond to tickets via helpdesk system, phone, email, or in person.
Set up and maintain user accounts, permissions, and passwords in Active Directory.
Deploy operating system images and software via tools like SCCM, Intune, or similar.
Assist with onboarding/offboarding processes, including provisioning of IT equipment.
Maintain inventory of IT hardware and software licenses.
Escalate unresolved issues to the next level of support or vendors.
Maintain documentation of support issues and solutions.
Ensure compliance with security and data protection policies.
Required Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
1-3 years of experience in desktop support or similar IT support role.
Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic networking concepts.
Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, and remote support tools.
Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Zendesk.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications (MCP, MCSA, etc.)
Experience with ITIL processes.
Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell, Bash) is a plus.
Experience supporting virtual desktop environments (e.g., Citrix, VMware).
