Desktop Engineer L2


Desktop and Laptop Hardware/Software Configuration & Troubleshooting:




Expertise in assembling, maintaining, and upgrading hardware components (RAM, storage, motherboards, etc.).




Installing and configuring operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).




Troubleshooting hardware and software issues (blue screens, driver problems, performance bottlenecks).




2. Printer Hardware Configuration & Troubleshooting:




Setting up and configuring network and local printers.




Handling driver installations, paper jams, and network printing issues.




Troubleshooting connection or print queue errors.




3. Tablet Configuration & Maintenance:




Setting up and troubleshooting tablets (iOS, Android).




Managing software updates, backups, and application installations.




Resolving performance issues and managing cloud syncing features.




4. Aruba and Cisco Access Points (Wi-Fi Connectivity) Configuration & Troubleshooting:




Configuring Wi-Fi networks, setting up SSIDs, and ensuring security (WPA3, 802.1x).




Troubleshooting connectivity issues, including signal strength, interference, and channel configuration.




Monitoring Wi-Fi health using controller dashboards.




5. Cisco and Aruba Core Switch and Basic Switch Configuration & Troubleshooting:




Basic to advanced VLAN configurations, spanning tree protocols (STP), and trunking.




IP routing, Layer 2 and Layer 3 troubleshooting.




Firmware updates and managing access control lists (ACLs).




6. Networking Cable Crimping & Troubleshooting:




Crimping Ethernet cables, setting up RJ45 connectors for both Cat5/Cat6 cables.




Identifying and troubleshooting issues like broken cables, improper termination, or mismatched pairs.




7. Software Configuration & Installation:




Installing Windows OS, Office 365, and configuring email accounts (Outlook).




SAP installations and setup of enterprise software.




Basic troubleshooting for software conflicts, licensing issues, and performance problems.




8. SCADA Systems Remote Support:




Providing remote technical support for SCADA systems (industrial control systems).




Liaising with vendors for system upgrades, maintenance, and troubleshooting connectivity or data issues.




9. Monitoring Firewall & Windows Server 2012 R2:




Managing firewall rules, VPNs, and securing network traffic.




Monitoring server performance, performing regular updates, and troubleshooting server-side issues (disk space, user management, etc.).
