We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team. In this role, you will provide technical support and troubleshooting for a variety of hardware and software issues across our organization. You will be responsible for ensuring that all desktop systems are functioning optimally and that users receive timely assistance with their IT-related queries. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a customer-focused attitude, and a solid understanding of IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Provide technical support for desktop systems, including troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
Manage computer systems and ensure they are operating efficiently.
Assist users with Microsoft Office applications and other software tools.
Support computer networking tasks, including VPN setup and firewall configurations.
Perform routine maintenance on desktop computers, including updates and installations.
Utilize tools such as SCCM for software deployment and management.
Maintain documentation of support requests using BMC Remedy or ServiceNow.
Collaborate with network administration to resolve connectivity issues related to LAN and TCP/IP.
Provide support for mobile devices and various operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Conduct analysis to identify recurring issues and propose solutions to enhance IT services.
Experience
Proven experience in technical support or help desk roles, with a focus on desktop support.
Familiarity with computer management practices, including Active Directory administration.
Strong knowledge of networking concepts such as DNS, TCP, and firewall configurations.
Experience with IT infrastructure management tools like Jira for tracking issues.
Proficiency in troubleshooting computer hardware issues across various devices.
Excellent communication skills to effectively assist users and provide exceptional customer service.
