Job Description

Key Responsibilities of Electrical Design Engineers:

Develop and review electrical system designs including lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, earthing, and lightning protection systems. Prepare detailed electrical layouts, single-line diagrams (SLD), and panel schedules using design software (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, etc.). Perform load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop analysis, and circuit protection studies. Select appropriate electrical components and equipment (transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, etc.). Coordinate with mechanical, civil, and architectural teams to ensure integrated MEP design. Prepare technical specifications, BOQs (Bill of Quantities), and tender documentation. Ensure designs comply with applicable standards (NEC, IEC, IS, IEEE) and safety regulations. Provide technical support during procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning phases. Review vendor submissions and ensure equipment matches design intent. Support value engineering and design optimization to reduce cost and improve efficiency.
